Ansset13 (127), Wilmington, North Carolina, USA Sep 28, 2007 Bottle 75cl. Reddish-brown pour. Nose was slightly alcohol and that of which I can only describe as a buttery triple cream brie cheese. Flavor was slightly sugary, with hints of dark fruit and yeast. A nice beer with lots more potential with cellaring. MilkmanDan (1940), Eagan, Minnesota, USA Sep 23, 2007 Reddish-brown. Did somebody put dish soap in my Belgian ale? Also sugary, like candied oranges. Dark fruit. estoppel (1028), Buffalo, New York, USA Sep 21, 2007 Draft. Brown body, small white head, sweet fruity nose. Fruity, spicy, hides alcohol exceptionally well. sblair (37), SD, California, USA Sep 18, 2007 On Tap Hamilton’s. This ale is very dark with a nice froth head and the flavors dance around from that belgian candy sugar with a balance of fruit and spices similar to plums and anise. The nose isnt as presence as the flavor
but this one is going real fast. Sammy (3934), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 16, 2007 This reportedly is the Grand Cru. It pours a muddy brown with little head. It is about three years old. Overall pleasant, and a drying rich taste. Definite dark fruit, pepper, and cocoa, well balanced. elmatadora (8), Jacksonville, North Carolina, USA does not count Sep 14, 2007 Pours dark brown with creamy head. Hints of cherry, figs, prunes. Finishes with a sweet alcohol taste. elmatador00 (518), j-action-ville, North Carolina, USA Sep 13, 2007 Pours a dark brown. Has hints of dark fruits, spices, yeast. Aroma was the same. Finished spicy and yeasty. Had sweetness and alcohol taste as well. Good body. swoopjones (1862), Buffalo, New York, USA Sep 11, 2007 on tap @ Coles Buffalo NY. Raisny, plumy, dried fruits.
