| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 10, 2006 Thin head which disappeared quite quickly. Little surprised there. Decent carboantion but not as much as expected. Rich raisin and toffee aroma with some grapes and caramel. Sweet smelling. Color is a very dark port brown. Kind of flat in the mouth. Sweet and very smooth. Lacking in depth of flavor. 10.5% alcohol is not really tatsed but noticed by the after effects. Little sweet malts and caramel again. Finish is pretty clean and sweet. A decent belgian strong ale but lacks alot of depth and character. No real yeast and spice notes. SynergyXJ (506), Blacksburg, Virginia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 9, 2006 Bottle Watch out for the cork! As soon as I untwisted the wire, the cork poped off like a bottle of champagne! Dark pour with almost no head. Light aroma at first that grows as the beer warms in your hand. Pretty sweet aroma, warming. Very sweet warming flavor as well. Sharp, but smooth. Alcohol isn’t covered well. BartC (401), Lichtaart, Belgium
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 7, 2006 Deep dark brown beer with almost no head. The aroma reveals already some of the sweetness. It has a slight hint of apples. It tastes rather sweet and reminds me of rum. Some alcohol taste at the end. A nice winter beer, but I know better ones. Perkeo (318), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Dec 4, 2006 Dark but not black ale, extreme cork pop but surprisingly no gushing. Pours easy, slight lacey head, interesting nose of....grape soda! HUGE. On the palate, nice and boozy, some rum notes, plus the grape thing from the nozum. I like this alot and will buy all I can!
