AKA Val Dieu Winter. It’s June now, so what better to drink than a Belgian Winter beer? Cloudy dark reddish brown, nearly black with a moderate head with great lacing and retention. Spicy aroma that’s dominated by darker fruits. Sugar and caramel is here too. Medium bodied, sweet sugary finish with some alcohol present at every step. Lotsa good quad comparisons here, but the trappists do it better.

Deep ruby in colour with large off white head. Hoppy nose with raisin and rum to compliment. Thin body, deeeeeeeep flavour - sweet berries and spice; an odd contrast that works wonders. Nutty finish that ends all too abrubtly.

On tap at Toronado. This dark brown ale poured with a thin tan head. The flavor is very malty with a noticeable candy sugar taste and an alcohol finish.

Pours a very dark ruby with a very light white head. heavy dark fruit and grapes in the nose. Some dark sweet malts, and almost a dark red wine smell. One of my favorite winter brews. The alcohol is very present in this beer is the first thing I notice. taste is quite similar to the nose, very sweet but dark fruits and grapes dominate the flavor characters. alcohol is present the whole way through. I’m not a huge fan of this brewery normally, but this is by far their best beer and I love this one.
