The aroma has yeast, dark fruit, basement aromas, brown sugar and cookies. The appearance is amber brown with a nice sized head. The taste has bubble gum, caramel, and dark fruit with a strong alcohol presents. The palate is thin but smooth. Overall it’s good.

Fruity aroma of grape bubblegum. Dark maple brown, good 750 Belgian bottle, OK label, glass-coating head. Intially, some off-tasting flavors -- sewage-like rotting fruit, but then that gave way to just a mix of artificial grape and cocoa and light hazelnut. Quickish finish for such a strong flavor profile. Light spiciness with medium-heavy sweetness. I wouldn’t buy it again.

C&C Bottle on 07/21/2008. Very dark black body with ruby highlights and a medium creamy off-white head. Roasty, toasty, rum soaked fruit, caramel, and molassas aroma. Big spicy flavor, rum soaked fruit, caramel, dark candi sugar with a spicy finish. Medium full body with moderate carbonation.

[1161-20080301] Tap. Stuffy wooden box aroma with a slight evergreen tinge. Dark brown body with a long-lasting foamy light tan head. Dark toasted malt flavour has sweet but subtle meat notes. Medium-full body is smooth. Very nice, lovely blend.

Bottle pours dark brown with a hint of plum, large foamy sand colored head, with attractive lacing.   Fruity aroma, bready, sweet with a touch of alcohol.   Malty/bready up front, candy like sweetness, with a licorice based aftertaste.   Drink this one at slightly below room temp otherwise the sweetness is very cloying, like cough syrup.   Decent body, but rather average mouthfeel.   Finishes sweet, bready, with lingering bits of licorice.   Decent, but perhaps a bit overly sweet.

Looks and smells nice enough but strong. I didn’t like this one. My stomach cramped up immediately. It was very fruity in character for me and just not good.
