750 ml bottle. Pours a deep dark dense brown with a thick biege head and very nice lacing. Smell of dark fruits, malt, dark sugar, and vanilla. Taste is sweet and bready malts upfront with lots of dark fruits to follow along with a nice spiciness. Medium bodied with a velvety smoothness and alcohol that is only present throught the finish.

Bottle cellared ~9 months. Nose is slow to open up. Acidic with a slight sweetness, remains indistinct. Deep cloudy gold-brown with lots of sediment and a light swirl of a head. Flavor is a deep sweetness, some strawberry, raisins, a touch of chocolate and some smokiness. A little bit of alcohol presence in the finish. Smooth on the palate.

750 ml bottle, cork marked 09/08. Pours a lovely deep ruby with cola highlights, minimal offwhite head and some jagged lacing. Nose is very vinous, with a sweet cherry oakiness slightly similar to a flemish sour. Very rich on the palate, smooth and silky, large toffee character with faint hints of chocolate, raspberries, sweet bready malts, nice lingering warm finish with just the barest hint of medicinal hops. Very nice, and much better than I remember a younger bottle being.

Dark brown pour with thick light tan head. Aroma is weak, maybe citrus and yeast (perhaps the problem is I’m tasting in my basement where my girlfriend’s cat resides). Taste is malty sweet and bready, with licorice and figs/plums; crisp slightly sour finish. Lots of stuff going on, wonderful creamy mouthfeel. Alcohol is well hidden. This is an excellent beer, although certainly not for everyone.

33cl Bottle. Pours nice dark reddish brown with a creamy off-white head. Sweet full malty aroma with notes of yeast, red wine, dark fruits, alcohol. Flavour is malty sweet, a little yeast, dark fruits, a bit of chocolate with a sweet alcohol finish and a hint of bitterness. Fullbodied, creamy mouthfeel. Very nice beer.
