Thin white wispy head. Aroma is fairly non-descript. Slightly sweet with a slight citrus hint. Sweet and malty flavour with a slight tangy hop finish. Nate (2552), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Jun 29, 2004 Wet wood and wool, yeasty, musty aroma. Very musty. Pale amber, light cloudiness, with foamy white lacing head. Light-medium body with vigorous carbonation. Starts very sweet, with bubblegum notes, sugar, and pear. No acidity or bitterness. Overall, sweet and a bit watery. Finish is sweet with Belgian yeast, bread. After is light sweet with bread. A little carbonic burn, and you can feel the alcohol. Decent, but really too sweet to be great. grat (433), ST. Louis, Missouri, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 13, 2004 I am typically not a fan of tripels, this one however is nice. Pours a very pale straw color. Head disspates quickly and never truly builds to much interesting. However looks good. Nose is excellent. Grapes, hone, oregano, nectarines and even though they aren’t in there all tripels, to me at least, smell like they’ve got saaz hops in them. Excellent on the palate. Good on the tongue. Notes of honey, creme brulee and grapes again. Good brew. Fruity and dry in the finish, a must for a good tripel as far as I’m concerned.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 7, 2004 Nice belgian laced white head, sunny golden straw. Aroma is full of herbal hops and feels very tripel ish with all the spice and honey malt. Sage, cloves and mint offer a nice battle to the mild alcohol. At the same time, sweetness is reduced to the minimum and lets anticipate a dry palate. Grassy taste, hints at clover. Initial sweet fruity attack, but quickly replaced by a spicy and dry finish. Great focus on the herbs here. Lively carbonation, smooth, bubbly and dry motuhfeel. Very nice tripel, surprisingly for me in fact! skaughty (621), Marietta, Georgia, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 6, 2004 I trust that all the ingredients are here in this one, just all in short measure. The alcohol carried the nose. The spices (thyme?) held the flavor, and the finish was pure sugar. I like the style to much to rate this poorly, but it wasn’t a favorite. wunderbier (1267), Tampere, Finland
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 5, 2004 Great head/lacing. There some grassy aromas present that I wasn’t necessarily expecting, but don’t find unpleasant. Taste is less sweet and less bitter than I was expecting...watered down almost. The sweetness seems to be all candi sugar though. Nice spices too. Body is a bit small for a 9% beer. The bottom line is: not a stellar example of a tripel...but quite quaffable. harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 4, 2004 I have to agree with some of the previous ratings. This is a little thin, in body and aroma, also in the mouthfeel. Has some nice spiciness that is defintely better when it warms. Otherwise, there is a bit of an apple skin, lead pencil taste going on in the finish. DrnkMcDermott (1852), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 3, 2004 Bottle A little thin maltwise considering what the style makes you expect. Pours a big white head on a hazy yellow body. candi sugar and Belgian spicines crowds out any malt.
