On tap at the Bistro Barrel Aged Fest, listed as NotOberfest ReinheitsgeNot Bock. Somewhat hazy medium brown in color with a small beige head, Aroma is sweet caramel malt, apple, spice, and mild bourbon. Flavor is malty and pretty sweet with caramel, toffee, sour apple, wood, some roast, and a little bourbon, but it’s really not too prominent here, as it probably shouldn’t be with a base beer like this. There is also a slight tartness that works pretty well. Very slight though - this is not a sour ale by any stretch of the imagination. Body is medium and palate is smooth, with soft carbonation. Very drinkable for something -bal aged though.

Pours foggy caramel brown with no head. Sweet malt in the nose with a touch of wood and decent bourbon. Same in the flavor, but more wood and bourbon present. Smooth on the palate with a very nice grain and toasted oak finish. Could be the most sessionable BA beer ever!

Draft @ Bistro Barrel Aged Festival. Pours a murky, brownish color; light tan head with patchy lacing. Solid amounts of creamy bourbon notes, caramel, and toasty vanilla; lots of caramel and soft maltiness. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: lots of sweet, lightly rough bourbon notes, charred wood; lots of caramel, burnt sugar, and light bourbon notes; solid, but slightly too focused on the barrel character. Lengthy finish: caramel, toastiness, and burnt sugar.

Tasted from the barrel at brewery. Thanks, Steve. The aroma was a little odd with the malt and bourbon not quite meshing together well, but the taste was absolutely amazing with some wonderful floral flavors dominate and a nice oak finish.
