Simply a fantastical beer. It’s huge, whithout being huge. An aroma of chocolate, roasted malts, a bit of licorice and molasses. Appearance is a deep black with some chocolately brown edges. Flavor is nicely balanced with a roasted malts, chocolate bitterness, and molasses. A very nice beer.

Cask. Dry-hopped. Black beer with a tan head. Chocolate, coffee, malt, and light roast aroma. Chocolate, light roast flavor with coffee, toffee, and backing hops. Medium bodied. Chocolate, coffee, and light roast lingers. Very nice and drinkable.

Medium sized tan head, retention is good with some thin lace left behind. Black colored brew, ruby edging. Nose is chocolate, roast with faint coffee notes. Body is med/full, oily with a gentle carbonation. Well balanced roast and chocolate flavors backed up by coffee and cocoa, light licorice notes and some earthy hoppiness. Fairly dry roasty finish that lasts. Very nice Stout, an easy sipper. Props to AgentSteve for the bomber!

Very satisfying yet eminently drinkable session stout. Cocoa, coffee, anise, dark fruit and a touch of what almost seems like rye bread tickle the senses. Full and round mouthfeel leads to a nice soft and slightly lingering finish.

Valley has changed the recipe and is now way better than before. No more medicine influence and more chocolate and roasted malt/ coffee flavors.

22oz. bomber, with another big thank you to AgentSteve for the hookup! Pours a dark brown/black with a creamy two finger tan head, moderate retention and minimal lacing. Aroma is roasted malts, with chocolate, coffee grounds, and dried oat flakes. Flavor is also roasty, with more chocolate, coffee and oats. Nothing overly complex, but an enjoyable stout just the same, thanks again Steve!
