NorCal Feb ’08 - Easily one of the mightiest tripel’s I’ve tasted to date. If all tripel’s were this good, I might actually start looking at them more closely. This was just sublime. I was able to get some from a bottle that was from ’06 (if I remember correctly). A nice floral, honeyish sweet nose, yeast and fresh peach/apricots abound. The beer looked damned near perfect in all of it’s golden yellow beauty. A nice three finger thick head started to dissipate into a 1/2 thick head that stayed the entire time I was drinking it. Smooth and creamy on the palate, yet alive and bubbly...never overdone. Flavor is VERY fruit forward, with a ton of summer fruit coming out. If you didn’t know any better, you could swear apricot and peach juice had been added to the beer in secondary. Alcohol was kept well in check, and I was told that the alcohol might be even higher now than the original 10.8%. Amazing beer. One of my favorites of the night.

Bottled. POurs hazey yellow with a hint on an orange hue. There is no head only a little white foam at the edge of the glass. Aroma of bananas and yeast. Taste is very sweet with notes of banana, alcohol and maybe even coriander(?). Sweetness fades a bit as the beer warms and alcohol becomes more pronounced. This is a BIG beer!

I am really surprised that no one has rated this wonderful mouthful previously. With a very appetizing nose of bananas and apricots many are missing out on a really beautiful example of a Belgian triple. wonderful full mouthfeel and cndy sugar sweetness with a very delicate and pleasing malt body that develops a very complex nose as it warms in the hand between wonderful sips.

Pours gold/yellow, with a small, white head. Aromas are fruit, with some spice and yeast. Flavors are fruit (mostly banana, but some peach too), spice, sugar, and alcohol. Body is fairly heavy. A real treat. Thanks to Davecooks for this bottle.

12-oz. Thanks, Aspidites! Big fruity green apple nose. Some lemon and honey there as well, but very subdued. Fizzy yellow body with bubbly white head. Lots of deep fruity complexity on the mid palate. Tingly. Hides the alcohol incredibly well. This is amazingly good stuff.

Pours a transparent bright golden with a frothy well-lacing white head. Aroma of lightly sweet biscuity Belgian and pale malts. Starts fairly full, complex and biscuity sweet with a nice light fruity complexity and mild coriander. Smooth, mild bitterness throughout. Very true to style and enjoyable, a nice abbey tripel.

12oz - thanks Steve - Aroma is lemon, Belgian yeast, banana, straw, alcohol and sweet bread. Pours transparent yellow with a small head and decent lacing. Flavor matches aroma and hides the alcohol well. Palate is smooth and creamy. Another very nice brew and great American Tripel

12 oz bottle from Krausenjockey. Pour is light orange with a white head that slowly manifests into a nice white ring of lace that lasts throughout the experience. Nose is candied sugar, pineapple, citrus, honey, spices, and banana. Flavor is juicy and spicey--but much more lightly spiced than most of the tripels I have tasted. This was a really complex beer that I really enjoyed quaffing and drinking. Alcohol was a bit over the top at times, but it didnt detract from my enjoyment of this fine brew. Nice work here, Steve. Thanks!
