mreusch (715), Olathe, Kansas, USA Nov 1, 2009 12oz. brewers bottle, with thanks to AgentSteve! Pours a hazy iced tea color with a moderate off-white head and diminishes to a thin covering. Aroma is ripe and candied dark fruits, caramel, and spicy belgian yeast. Flavor is sweeter, with more ripe and candied dark fruits, caramel and spicy yeast. A nice blend of flavors and enough complexity to keep it interesting. Thanks again Steve! tjthresh (1746), Greenfield, Indiana, USA Oct 3, 2009 Bottle shared by Ted. Ours bright brown with some red hues. The nose is carmely with some oxidation and Belgian alcoholic spice. I get some nice toffee, nuttyness, chocolaty date character. Light carbonation. Slick with a dry finish. I’m told this is over the hill, but its still tasty. iowaherkeye (1832), Bakersfield, California, USA Sep 29, 2009 12oz bottle from KrausenJockey--thank you Steve! Clear copper penny with a 1/2 finger yellowish white head, fair retention. Lots of caramel, raisins, prunes up front in the aroma with leather and slightly tangy tobacco behind. There is also some light yeasty spice. The flavor is pretty well spot-on with the aroma with some light ripe banana notes as well as some lightly toasted bread. Semi-dry finish with minimal bitterness. Other than the dryness, I can’t pick out the alcohol. Big full body with light carbonation. Pretty good Quad, especially by U.S.-made standards. badlizard (2325), Berkeley, California, USA Sep 22, 2009 Tasted on tap at brewery. Thanks, Steve. A nice clear golden color with a fluffy white head. Sweet fruity Belgian yeast aroma and taste with some candy sugar notes and a silky smooth mouth feel. Excellent.
