Apr 29, 2007 This is a exceptional Qudrupel. The nose is full of Caramel and Malt sweetness. The Color is a nice brown.
The taste is a well balanced malt flavor with a nice warm sugar and alcohol finish.

Apr 18, 2007 Big rich decadent nose of toffee and caramel covered raisins. Big and rich mouthfeel that brings thoughts of belgian monks dancing by the brew kettle. Absolutely the best American Quad that has ever passed my lips.

May 18, 2007 Hand bottled at brewery. This abbey quad pours a medium copper color. Small sized white foamy head. Aroma is caramel, dark fruit, brown sugar, raisins, and some yeast. A medium to full bodied abbey quadruple. Malts are fruity and sweet. Lots of dark fruit and caramel. Toffee and raisins. Light carbonation. Touch of spiciness. Very nice quad. There is only a slight hint of alcohol noticeable. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet with a touch of spiciness.

Jun 10, 2007 Brown, clear, no head. Sweet brown sugar dominates the nose. Flavor is mix of brown sugar, molasses, rum and honey, with subtle notes of raisin and prune, Nice mix of flavors throughout, I would’ve like to have had a bit more for further analysys. Nevertheless, very tasty and luxurious. Yep, I said luxurious.

May 7, 2007 This is a great beer. A great aroma of caramel, dark fruits, toffee, light spices and bread notes. A rich brown hue in color with nice fluffy off-white head with nice lacing. Flavor is very complex with different notes of dark fruits, molasses, brown sugar, yeast, spicy and toffee all coming at you from different temps. I could keep drinking this all night long. Excellent.

May 26, 2007 Bottle from Stoutlover. Light bourbon, cinnamon, and some baked apple pie in the aroma. Golden brown body with red hues make for a striking appearance. Full palate. Some alcohol up front, followed by very complex mix of tastes--heavy malts, baked apples, light tart tastes and vinuous aspects as well. Very intriguing and BIG beer.

Sep 22, 2009 Tasted on tap at brewery. Thanks, Steve. A nice clear golden color with a fluffy white head. Sweet fruity Belgian yeast aroma and taste with some candy sugar notes and a silky smooth mouth feel. Excellent.

May 30, 2007 12oz - thanks Steve - Aroma of raisins, alcohol, tobacco, and caramel. Pours transparent brown with a small head and decent lacing. Flavor is sweet raisin, plum, caramel, molasses and a killer yeasty finish. This is one awesome tasting brew! Palate is so very smooth for 12%. One of the best quads out there and a worthy top 50 brew IMO.
