Commercial Description:
Our take on the traditional old style or oud Kriek but with an added twist of fresh pommegranites added as well as sour cherries to the fermentation. Fermented in an American Oak white wine barrel for 1 year.

Thanks to SoLan for sharing this. Cloudy light brown pour with a fluffy white head. Sour funk tart apple aroma. Taste is sour cherry, tangy and tart with nice carbonation. Finishes very tart.

Stone Sourfest. Very descent offering with a dry finish. A hair on the sweet side. Very drinkable.

Sampled at the Stone Sour Fest. Some sourness on the aromas, but the flavor was sweeter than I had expected. Lots of cherry and some grape flavors. Pretty darn tasty.

dark brown/red beer, the american version of kriek colored, i guess...with a spotty white head. Thick cherry notes in the nose but lacking any pronounced sour/funk aromas...rather sweet smelling than anything else. Sourness is pretty strong at the front of the tongue though but the sweetness is there as well, backing it equally. Funk is missing here, and unfortunately, the sourness quickly fades to straight graininess. This is a big no/no in my sour ale book. Graininess is like a girl using her teeth during a blowjob. Its cool that your drinking a sour ale (getting a blow job) but it really sucks that you get a teeth scraping against your cock over and over again...but you just stick with it anyway. Shit. In sum, it had promise to begin with but the overly sweet character and the quick rising grainy character kills it in the end.

On tap at Stone’s Sour Fest 2008. WeeHeavy and I traded big with AgentSteve for a bottle of this, then wham it shows up on tap here. Luckily we still have the bottle to trade off. Amber color. Sweetish. Fruity fig flavor. Mild sourness. Medium to thick body. Very good. 4.3ish.

Tap @ 2nd Annual Stone Sour Fest. Pours brown with a bright white head. Nose is acidic and sour. Taste of sweet and sour cherry with some rye in there as well, where did that rye come from ?

Bottle… Murky, caramel-colored ale with a small, off-white head. The aroma is a sweet/tart mishmash of cherries, graham, brown sugar and caramel. Medium to full-bodied and astringent with spritzy carbonation. Acidic and fruity with sufficient bitterness to afford balance. Fruity, tangy, bone-dry finish. Kudos to SoLan for sharing his stash!
