Tap at pub. A wonderful example of the barley wine or old ale style. Pours with a ncie copper color with a samllish head. Great aromas of wood, leather and tobacco smoke, like siting in an old English pub. Alcohol is more prominent on the palate, together with caramel and more woodsiness. Very nice.

Draft, courtesy of KrausenJockey. Thanks!! Pours a murky brown color; patchy, fine-bubbled lacing. Sweet wet malts and toasty malts in the aroma; light cinnamon and breadiness. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: loads of sweet maltiness, wet malts, and chewy caramel and dense sugar; lively, dense, intense maltiness; layered sweetness; chewy malts and brown sugar. Lengthy finish: chewy sugar, wet malts, and lengthy sweetness.

Sample at Stone Brewing; i don’t really remember other than what alexanderj wrote down. I thought it was sugary but roasted; as well as being grassy and yeasty.

Sample at Stone Brewing; caramel and red in color. Fruity and caramel aroma with some cocoa. Flavor was like that of a solid barleywine; caramel and fruit predominantly. A bit of hopping. Golubj liked it a bit more than me giving it a 3.7; he thought it was sugary but roasted; as well as being grassy and yeasty.
