Huge bitter aroma, hops, pine, grass, and flowers. Taste is also big and bitter, with citrus, pine hops, sugar, and flowers. Lingering sweet bitterness. Awesome Double IPA. jarspag (595), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 18, 2009 Thanks to AgentSteve... Top 5 IPA’s of all time for me. Such a graceful balance of sticky hops and thick caramel malts. Keeping it all together was an intersting "spice" - couldn’t really pinpoint it, but it was unique for sure. Just a badass beer, even though it wasn’t super fresh! sloth (1672), Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 16, 2009 Small tan head, good retention and nice lacing. Seriously hazy, probably a copper colored brew. Nose is loads of fun with juicey pine and citrus, nice earthyness, grass and fruity notes. Body is medium, resiny on the palate. Fat ass juicey hop flavors, sticky in a loving way with some surprisingly noticeable caramel malt notes bounding their way out from under this hop madness. Fat and juicey, alcohol flavors are apparent but appreciated in this big azz brew. Notes of wood and berrys, bubble yum, with lotsa fruity goodness. No dissappointments here, fat and juicey finish that lasts and lingers for not forever unfortunately. agentsteve,, thank you sir, Valley Brew, thank you sirs. What a pleasent ride. Well done! bikesandbeers (468), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jan 15, 2009 on top at the brewpub. Huge hoppy aroma with nice citrus and pine. copper clor poured with a thin head. flavor had a nice amount of carmel malt but was dominate by citrus and pine hops without beeing too harsh. Very Drinkable. I watched a guy next to me down two as i savored my single galss. Although there was some alchol presence, it was nto nearly as boozy as some other big IIPA’s I’ve had. In fact i think this is slightly more drinkable that pliny the younger. alexanderj (2246), Chino Hills, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 7, 2009 Pint at the brewpub with Jon. Really lucky this was on tap. Aroma was vibrant with citrus, grapefruit, grass, earth and caramel. I remember it was nice looking, but did not write anything down. Flavor had alot of mango in the finish, especially at the beginning. Was very drinkable for the ABV, but it also packed alot of flavor and bitterness. Similar hop profile to some of the Stone beeers. Very fruity. Really nice. golubj (1286), Sunnyvale, California, USA

Aroma is some tropical hops, citrus and oranges. Flavor is nice sweet malt, citrus hops, earthy bittering hops in the end. Really reminded me of double bastard. brianprentiss (473), Portland, Oregon, USA

Pleasant aroma of malty caramel, pine, and subdued alcohol. Medium to full bodied with lowish carbonation. I tasted alcohol, toffee, toasted bread, caramel, and citrus fruits. Good stuff.
