Big, piney, hoppy aromas attack me at first. Tons of grapefruit citrus to go along with the hops are evident. Really really great smelling. Very inviting. Very juicy hops explode on the palate right away. The citrus almost took a backseat to the piney hops. The finish was very crisp and only lightly bitter. I was expecting more bitterness, which was a pleasant surprise. I had been wanting to try this forever, and really was happy with it. Killer. pantanap (1341), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 17, 2007 bomber.......pours a hazy caramel brown with a thin off white head.....nose was bursting with tropical fruit with just a small backdrop of malt.....the balance is maintained in the taste. the hops play the forefront role and then is met with some sweet caramel malt. bitter this is not (well slightly in the finish) and thus proves to be the advantage that this one has over other DIIPAs imo. enough carbonation to give it some character.....a really nice beer and a big thanks to krausenjockey for this. puzzl (2619), New York, New York, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Oct 30, 2007 Bomber from Aspidites. Apparently this is "a non dry hopped experimental version of which there were only 12 bottles." Sweet. This is some good shit. I normally dont care that much for IIPAs... they always taste the same to me, are a little too acrid, etc. Not this one. The hoppiness is pure and rich, but is controlled. The malt sweetness takes a backseat but shows up right when you need it. Drinkability is ridiculously high for a 10.5% beer... I feel like I could session this stuff. I’ve finished the bomber in 5 or 6 sips, and it usually takes me an hour or two to do a bottle this size. Though I have not had the "real" version, it doesn’t matter. This is it. This is perfection in beer brewing. To me, this is the in the class of the perfect IIPA. The only other worthy alternatives are those that are a bit more hoppy, stronger punch, less drinkable of course, but still rich and smooth. Dreadnaught is the only one that comes to mind. Aroma of apple, grapefruit, toffee, toasted grain, pine, and caramel. Flavor of caramel malt, pine/citrusy hops, and light herbal. Lumpy (1802), Carrollton, Texas, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Oct 24, 2007 Bottle. Body-hazy tawny brown with a thin ring of bubbles and a thin film of bubbles. Nose-big fruity grapefruit, Juicy fruit, and big PNW hoppy nose. Taste-not at all sticky or overly sweet, malty for an IPA, bitter on the back end, lime, pine resin, very light cream corn, dirty finish, soil on the back end, body odor, very “medium” west coast IPA. Not too sticky/sweet, but nothing super special. Good and enjoyable, but when it is all said and done, it’s another west coast IPA. kp (8399), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jul 1, 2007 This one was an excellent IPA and one of Gez’s favorite :) A murky brown apperance. The aroma consists of pine, perfume, caramel, and grapefruits. The flavor has some grapefruit, pine, oranges, and brown sugar. A rather bitter beer with a good malt presence. Nice! | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 30, 2007 Appearance: Pours a cloudy, murky brown body with a soapy, off-white head.
Smell: Very fragrant aroma of pine needles, spruce branches, and juicy pink grapefruits.
Taste: Beyond a slight showing a toasted biscuits, its all hops, with flavors of resinous pine and fresh-cut grapefruit out upfront, and lighter notes of wood shavings, pepper, and tangerines following close behind. Finishes citric and hugely bitter.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Mild carbonation. Slight stickiness to it.
Drinkability: As a Double IPA, I’d call it a success.
