Commercial Description:
Überhoppy Imperial IPA: Hops, hops glorious hops! There is no mistaking what this beer is; soft and delicate it is not. Überhoppy is meant to completely overwhelm you with resinous, floral, citrus and herbal hops barely balanced by a huge amount of malt that keeps the Lupulin onslaught from resulting in complete palate destruction. If you do not like hops, Überhoppy is NOT the beer for you, do us all a favor and either give this beer to someone with the intestinal fortitude to appreciate it or put it down and walk away. Überhoppy is brewed with 10 different hop varieties and a complete and utter disregard for common logic or sanity. Please consume this beer as soon as possible to ensure maximum hop freshness. Approximately 9.5% ABV.

Thanks to KrausenJockey for this brew. In a 12oz bottle. Pours out dark copper, almost a light brown with a thin white head that fades. Aroma is intense, pine hops with some grapefruit and floral aromas. Awesome mouthfeel with pine, citrus hops, floral hops and a slight sweet backbone. Bitterness carries throughout with slight alcohol on a dry finish. Very solid beer.

Sampled thanks to drewbeerme. Carmel-red colored with a thin off white head. Nose is very malty and grapefruity, abundant and enjoyable. Carmel and hops make up the flavor as well. As andrew said very juicy hops, which I enjoyed with grapefruit and pine, but something seemed sort of off about it. Alcohol, a strange bitterness. Not bad, but for me, it doesn’t quite live up to its score.

This beer is incredible (thanks kmweaver for bringing it to the party). I like the bitterness in the flavor here; strongly herbal, with only a little sweetness to my taste. Intensely pineappley nose. Wonderful deep bronze color too. All around a fantastic Double IPA.

(12oz bottle, thanks kmweaver) Cloudy amber body with small off-white head. Aroma is invitingly hoppy -- moderately sweet, grapefruit, pine, some orange, pine, light herbal. Taste is medium sweet, intensely bitter -- grapefruit, orange, some pine, earthy/woody. Resinous full body, tongue smacking the roof of my mouth -- exactly what you want from a IIPA.

It seems like a pattern at these tastings to always thank stoutlover for hooking someone up. Poured a light brown with a small white head. Aroma was of a little grapefruit and some more hoppiness. Flavor was hoppy and citrusy with a tad of pine comiing through along with some bitterness. This had a great hoppy flavor.

12oz bottle from davecooks! big thanks! pours a very hazy amber with soapy off white head. nose is very piney and grapefruit. hop flavor is a little too juicy for my tastes, i’d prefer it to be a little more crisp and bitter. mouthfeel was suited for the style. alcohol was well hidden. nothing to impressive here.3.7.

9/22/09, thanks to kan for sharing a bomber bottled 3-4weeks ago. pours gold with whtie head. a big piney and citrus hop aroma. lots of piney citrusy hop goodness. very very tasty but i still need to try this uberfresh/draft.4.0.

Bottle shared by bgburdman9 at Columbus tasting 6 - Thanks! - Pours amber with a slight offwhite head. Aromas of Grapefruit and Pine with slight caramel behind that. Flavor is grapefruit, pine, pale and caramel malts, good and fruity throughout. Medium body with a crisp palate and bitterness throughout. Good dry finish.
