Oh this looks inviting. Nose is super pungent, very citrusy and fruity, mango, grapefruit rind, and all manner of hop character. Flavor is also bursting with lupulin goodness. Sweet fruity hop profile, citrus rind, mango, great malt balance. Nice palate with a residual medium bitterness. Great badlizard (2345), Berkeley, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 31, 2009 Clear golden orange with a with off white head. Earthy hoppy and grapefruit aroma. Tastes of grass, pine, grapefruit, caramel, and pine. Bright palate. It’s missing that right mix of balance and character that makes other really big really hoppy IPAs work. ericandersnavy (1055), crossroads, Texas, USA

Not sure on the hype surrounding this one. Didn’t feel it is as well balanced as other top examples in the style. blutt59 (2105), Dallas, Texas, USA

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Aug 29, 2009 This one poured a dark amber color with an off white head. Aroma was fresh cut hops, really reminiscent of the 3F hop profile, but with a little less citrus and more pine. Flavor was no disappointment either. Tremendous flavors of herbs and citrus, very vibrant but not mouth puckering bitterness, very well balanced for sure.
