Dark brown, no head. Toasty nose with slight cherry. Sweet, simple chocolate palate. A bit of oiliness detracts from the mouthfeel. Weird stout, no sense of purpose that I could figure out. Just not a beer brewed for my tastebuds I guess.

Mar 9, 2008 ZBF2008: From tap. Pours dark brown to black with a dense tan head. Spiced and roasted malt aroma. Flavour is spiced, annis seed, light coffee note and a smooth chocolate note into the finish. Ends with a smooth mouthfeel and a light lingering annis seed flavour.
