Dark brown with a light head. The aroma is gasoline, some dark sugars and out-of-control esters. On the palate, dark fruits, some astringency and again with the gasoline.

Draught at the brewpub. Almost black with dense creamu off-white head. Roasty coffee aroma. Medium dry despite some underlying malt sweetness. Medium bodied with fairly soft mouthfeel. Evidenlty roasty, but never assaulting or edgy. Notes of tar before a salty licorice finish with quite some bitterness. Good, but not as fantastic as their pilsener.
