Nose of dark cherry, roast, toffee, dark malt and Belgian dark fruit. Color is a dark garnet with fat head. Flavor is a GREAT sour cherry melded perfectly with a nice mellow dubbel MELDED PERFECTLY with a great toffee roasty US Porter. The effect is a nice balanced sweet Belgian dark and a cherry-chocolate porter. I am really impressed by the balance. Works well with the fruit on the level of Cherry Adam. I hope this doesn’t get more sour with age but it’s probably inevitable.

Nose is cola, brett, some funk, tart, sourness, fruit/ berry doused in sour, and vinegar. The flavor is similar with tartness, cocoa-esque dark fruit, malt, vinegar, more berry, and brett that lingers into the finish. Medium-bodied and pretty nice, excellent for a style I don’t care too much for. potbeercollege (407), Boulder, Colorado, USA

A dark brown with big thick tan head lasting. Aroma is malt and dark sugars combined with fruity feel to create a cotton candy almost nose and taste. Something throughout this beer reminds me of sugar candies the whole time. Other flavors include chocolate and cherry sweetness. Odd texture with a quick finish. eaglefan538 (2399), Wilmington, Delaware, USA

The pour was deep brown with some red-mahoganey type hues, strong pillowy head and lacing. The aroma was roast, chocolate, deep rich cherries and some dark fruits, light funk/bret. The flavor followed, the cherries were rich, nice dark fruit malts, interesting contribution from the roastiness and chocolate elements (porter-ish aspects). Mouthfeel was big but not thick and syrupy, airy from the bubbles. A nice brew. SuzyGreenberg (1410), Seattle, Washington, USA

Rich malty aroma that hints of a little sour/tart character. Taste comes in strong with definite sour cherries, sugars, the brett is great. Dark fruits- plum, prune, dates, purple grapes. Easy going down. Wish I had more. Awesome brew GAManiac (1189), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

Pours a dark, murky brown with a thick, creamy tan head that shows excellent retention and lacing.
Lots of sweetness in the aroma with sweet cherries, chocolate and candi sugar. There is a hint of funk and tartness as well but it’s not the first thing I get in the aroma.
The taste is more of the same though the cherries are more on the tart side but still with the chocolate-dipped character and an underlying sugary malt backbone. The finish is slightly dry and lightly funky though it’s still sweeter than I was expecting.
The mouthfeel is very lively with lots of carbonation and light to medium bodied overall. Maybe it’s the carbonation that makes it seem lighter. The brett is very subtle overall and it’s not that funky.
This is a very solid Belgian dark that is more chocolate-covered cherries than it is bretty funk. I personally think that’s a plus, but I bet the brett will make this more interesting over time. Not sure if it will be better, but I’ll cellar a couple to find out. michael-pollack (2726), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA

Tastes of malts, chocolate, cherries, slight barn yard, and a hint of wood. Medium to full body. Dry texture. Average carbonation. Chocolate, malt, and light cherry finish is dry.
