Bradrcr (554), Renton, Washington, USA Jun 29, 2008 6/6/08 On draught at the Stickey Wicket, Victoria, BC. Aroma is very low with lightly roasted sweet malt dominating. Appearance is dark brown with a tan head. Flavor is roast malt forward with no hops; very simple. Mouthfeel is medium-high bodied with a very low carb texture. Overall, nothing objectionable, but not enough flavor. Beershine (1207), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Oct 19, 2007 Sweet, malty nose. Dark body. Head is foamy at first but flattens too soon. Smooth. Bready entry. Full of malt. Slightly sweet finish: a little too sweet for me. Mild. Drinkable and light-bodied. jcwattsrugger (3793), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Oct 16, 2007 on tap @ Pacific Shore-pours a retaining creamy tan head and dark brown color with red tint. Aroma is dark malt, hint of dark fruit. Taste is dark malt-chocolate, secondary light hops bite, dark fruit. OK carbonation. Tipsy_McStager (818), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Oct 11, 2007 light malty aroma. Pours opaque black. Kind of like porter lite. Light body, roasted malts with slight bitter and sour finish. mgermani (583), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Sep 28, 2007 Pours a deep black-amber with an off-white head and some lace. Slight molasses aroma, slightly sweet and a bit stale. A very present port-like taste with light roasted and dark crystal malt, slight hop presence, slightly stale with a warming finish. Carbonation reminiscent of soda-pop, decently creamy but thin, with a dry finish. Not a bad beer, some complexity to it, but too light in body, despite the pleasant finish.
