| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 28, 2007 Pours a deep black-amber with an off-white head and some lace. Slight molasses aroma, slightly sweet and a bit stale. A very present port-like taste with light roasted and dark crystal malt, slight hop presence, slightly stale with a warming finish. Carbonation reminiscent of soda-pop, decently creamy but thin, with a dry finish. Not a bad beer, some complexity to it, but too light in body, despite the pleasant finish. pantani (1902), Salinas, California, USA

App.: Fairly dark cola, clear, mocha head that dissipates quickly.
Aroma: Tight nose, kinda dirty and skunky with some odd earthy, nutty notes. A bit of roasted malt as it warms (I’m stretchin’ it here...).
Palate: Medium body and fairly full, sharp carbonation.
Flav.: Some roasted malt notes, bread crust/toast, a bit nutty, maybe a bit of floral hops in the background. Finishes with a hint of bitterness and little residual roastiness.
Schwach, Herr Hermann. Nicht so gut.
