| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 9, 2004 This is a very fine beer...and you should try it.
On opening, sharp but malty(oxymoron I know)...pours a nice glowing chestnut gold black.Guinness style coloured head but without the density.
On taste:Sharp and hoppy yet with a nice blend of crystal and black malt,a real full flavour, mildly nutty and earthy in a dirty sort of way.Not Burnt like most examples.
The finish is sharp like a expensive cheddar and dry.
the body is outstanding for a lager.

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 13, 2004 Dark brown-black with a short tan-coloured head. Deliciously strong smell of toasted grain, chocolate, and bitter hops. Taste starts as delicious caramel, roasted malt, and hops, but quickly transitions into a long, unpleasant tinny finish. Not very well balanced, but would be fantastic without the metallic end on finish.
