I forgot that I had this beer until I was surfing the site. The lady and I enjoyed a thick juicy cut of beef at a steakhouse in Victoria along with one of these. Very good for the style. Very good malt flavor for a lager. Sweet in the finish.

This is a guzzle after work beer. I am a supporter of Vancouver Island Brewery so i drink this on occasion. nothing wrong with it,but it is not special in any way EXCEPT that it is much better then the rest of the Canadian lagers and that is not saying much really.

Can. Light golden with white head. Light malty aroma with hints of spicy hops. Flavor is clean with malt & butter with subtle hop bitterness bite in the finish. an Ok lager, especially for a canned one.

On tap at Maple Leaf Lounge, Vancouver Airport. Limpid golden body with a lasting white creamy head. Well balanced malty/hoppy aroma with bready notes. Decent taste that ends with a good bitter finish. Good Lager.

On tap at Howard Johnson (by the Commonwealth Pool). Clear golden pour with a strong white foam, amazing retention. Aroma is malts, grains. Taste is moderately hopped, malts, with a bitter finish that is still pleasant.

Moderate Canadian thirst-quencher. Pale gold, thin head. Yeasty aroma with soft buttery notes. Quenching palate with a ’what happened?’ finish. Some cedary hops.
