| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 17, 2004 Very average beer, though in a correct atmosphere (a german Ratskeller of something of the same kind) the taste does grow on you Murphy (1759), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 16, 2004 Good head. Typical sweet lager aroma. Color is of course lacking. Smooth, nice and malty. Solid, bitter. Acceptable but not exceptional. Crosling (1854), Loveland, Colorado, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 9, 2004 Clear Yellow. Faint aroma of light, grainy, fruity, pilsner malts along with a slight notes of medicine and noble, spicy, floral German hops. For the style, I like this stuff. The malts are grainy, biscuity and give a nice taste of light fruits, mainly pear. It’s well hopped for the style and pretty good. Thanks Ernest. ohknaks (44), USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 26, 2004 12 oz bottle: Pours a medium yellow, with a frothy whie head that disappears fairly quickly. Lots of carbination, and a decent hop malt balance for an average brew. Nothing all that surprising in this pils. Pretty much what I expected from the label. Ernest (4487), Boulder, Colorado, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Sep 25, 2004 Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is clear medium yellow. Aroma is moderately hoppy (herbs), lightly malty (grain), with a hint of DMS. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately bitter, slightly unclean. Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation. Not a bad pils, but not nearly as clean tasting as it should be (compared to, say, Bitburger). Good malt and hop balance for this style...good body but plenty of bitterness in the finish. First time I had this was out of a can in Germany, but this bottled version I found in Denver was actually in better condition (best before April ’05). If this one was cleaner tasting/smelling, it might be near 4.0 territory, honestly. legion242 (1582), Richardson, Texas, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 15, 2004 I am giving this the most average of ratings because this is the most average of German pils’. Pale straw, very pale straw. Nice head retention. Fairly unremarkable example of the style. No complexity. Unimteresting. Jedsbrew (465), Rhineland, Missouri, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 13/20 | Sep 5, 2004 Medium golden color with a moderate head and good residual lacing. Mild malty aroma w/some grassiness. Very clean, malty up front with an intensifying bitterness into the short finish. Nice-a conventional German pils and one of the better ones I’ve tried.
