Light hazy amber colour. Toasty, caramelly aroma. Quite toasty character. Oxidized maybe? Either way, not much to see here.

Excessive foaming on opening bottle. An amber red colour. Fruity flavour but essentially uninteresting. A feeling that life was too short to bother with this beer overwhelmed me. zzzzz

Amber colored, little white head. Sweetness, berries, sourness, mild caramel and vinous tones in aroma. Medium bodied. Flavor is not as good as aroma: starts with sweet cherry tones, ends with sour and lasting dryness. Reminds me of some lambics.

Bottled (BB 08/2006)
Clear amber color, small white head. Burned butterscotch aroma, a bit malty. Dry, watery and very carbonated. Tart flavor, almost lambic-like. Some roasted notes in the aftertaste. Quite interesting, but not very good brew. There is maybe something which reminds about Duchesse De Bourgogne.

clear dark amber colour; fine stable head; weird aroma of meat; piney and raisiney; mainly sweet with a hint of tartness; short and discrete undefinable aftertaste - don’t know what I should do with this ?!?

Bottle. Copper coloured with a slim and weak white head. Aroma is buttery, malty, caramel and metallic. Very watery mouthfeel; metallic taste, weak caramel, weak whiskey in there. Quite highly carbonated. Not particularly good.

(Bottle 25 cl) Amber coloured with a slightly beige head. Nice malty nose with a touch of caramel in the flavour. Rather anonymous "Speciale" - and far from the best of it’s style. 151197

Pours dark orange colored with a fizzy off-white head. Acidid malt aroma with caramel hints. Tart fruity flavor with distinctive Verhaeghe tones even though it’s not a sour ale! Quite dry and rather rancid. All right, but I definately prefer their other beers!!! Still very different and interesting!
