This is probably only the fourth or fifth sour ale I’ve ever tasted, but it is definitely the best so far. The aroma is very strong fermented grape sourness...and maybe some vinegar. It comes off as a little intimidating, but the flavor is fantastic. Much more smooth and drinkable than you might think. An excellent combination of sweet and sour flavors along with malts and fruits. Also has a bit of a red wine taste as well. Great carbonation, dry finish. This beer might just make me explore more sours that I usually overlook.

Bottle as shown. Pours a very dark amber with a medium frothy ligh tan head that lasts awhile leaving behind decent spotty lacing along the glass. The aroma is a strong vinegar and tart. Light bodied and thin mouthfeel with a very sweet strawberry taste. Very smooth and easy to drink, my first sour ale and what an amazing beer it was.

25.4 oz bottle, exp date: Dec 2007. Dark purple brown with a coating of beige bubbles. Nose is cider and balsamic vinegar with hints of oak. Lightly sparkling with an almost syrupy mouthfeel. Taste is cherry, toffee, raspberry and honey. Sweetness is countered slightly with some sour strawberry and dry wood. Could easily be mistaken for a fruit beer; light, drinkable, barely tart.

one of my favorites; it exemplifies a sour. Crisp, with a tart cherry and apple flavor, everything in this beer works in balance. Delicious sharp sour apple aromas.

Bottle. Pours a lovely dark red/brown, with a brief foamy head that quickly reduces to naught. Nose is big and moderately sour, with cherries, chocolate, a bit of barnyard and leather, and a lovely concord grape aroma as it warms. Palate is sweet, sharp, tangy, and sour, with apples, Welch’s grape jelly, cherries, and funk. Not the most assertive sour I’ve ever had, but a lovely beer.

DRunk from goblet. Pours deep red with a thin head. Aroma is sour and fruity. Strong apple flavour, rich and sweet. Very sour tasting. A very interesting brew. I have never had anything like it before. It reminds me a bit of a port.

25 cl Bottle. Sour ales have not been my thing so far (but I only tried a limited amount of them). THis is the first I really liked. The brownish-burgundy red color with the small off white head is fantastic. Very vinuous aroma, sharp and you can expect some decent sourness. The flavor is nice, complex and very refreshing. I can imagine drinking this every now and then (even though I have to order it from eshops).
