On tap at Papagos. Notes of horse blanket, banana and spice. Wasn’t very sour - more sweet than anything. Pours brown with white head. SECOND ANALYSIS: From a 330 cl bottle: smells like new plaster, banana and fruit. Sweet. Pours brown with fluffy tan head. Thisdissipates quickly, but doesn’t fully go away for a while. Definitely has a sweet "cooked" flavor. Has almost a sweet/sour thing going on. Not much brett going on here - just vinegar. I’m definitely tasting the cherries - and its not a Maraschino cherry flavor, but a full on dark Bing Cherry flavor.

sour, acid. looks, red light brown head, flavor is sour, raspberries, strawberries. very nice for a sour beer. (first one i tasted which was not sour due to infection, was much better than the bad ones)

winey nose, almost vinegary, not entirely pleasant. clear auburn color, light but present head. sweet red berry flavor. acetic aroma carries over to the taste, giving it a very rustic character. interesting though a little off-putting. i can see tomato, pomegranate, and apple skins, especially as it warms up. just enough carbonation makes this pretty light and refreshing. retronasal grainy "cheerios" come out (does anybody else get this?). recommendable, if you can get past the vinegar. but for my money, go for the rodenbach grand cru ;)

Dark red beer, taste more like fruits juice. Un pur délice. For all. Deep cherry and dark fruits flavor.

Ruby-amber on the pour, deep brown in the glass, with refractive garnet highlights, a finger of beige head leaves a glass-coating lace. Full bodied aromas of apricot nectar, balsamic vinegar, and yeast. First sips from the cold glass are more sweet than sour, apricot nectar with an underlying tartness. As the glass warms, the vinegar element dominate the sweetness, while the fruit remains, plums and apricots. Mouthfeel is initially viscous, like a fruit syrup, then turning dry as the beer fades into an oaky finish.

On tap @ in de Wildeman, a few months ago. Very deep red colour, like red wine, white/pink head. Aroma of cherries, dark fruits, vinegar, a bit musty, yeast. Flavour is surprisingly sweet, a bit sour, cherry, forest fruits. Champagne like mouthfeel. Too sweet, becomes cloying.

2008 Bottle - Pours dark red with a sizable offwhite head...generous lacing, aroma is dominated by dry fruit, wood esters, apple...flavour follows, big oak up front, great tart fruit on the front end, turns cloying and sweet on the end, finishes like fruit juice, fleeting with only a bit of residual flavour and thins...very fun bottle to taste

Bottle. Pours deep amber brown with rocky head. Aroma was fruit and cherries and sherry smell. Flavor was thinner and dissipated more quickly than the aroma would suggest, but it was delightful. Very sweet but a lot going on. And at 6% it doesn’t knock you out.
