Also available at the Mud Lounge in Missouri's Springfield - and at the home of one of SMS's librarains where I had quite a few ... Anyway, this is a really fun beer - an unexpected romp of complexity after months wandering in the beer desert back home. A really nice - well not balance, exactly, but stretch between the sour cream cake sweetness and the vibrant acidic edges. Good stuff!

~ Purchased this bottle from Big Z Beverage in Huntington, NY. This sour ale pours a dark reddish brown with a huge foamy head that subsides rather quickly into some spotty lacing. The smell reminds me a lot of balsamic vinegar. There is a really nice sour and earthy smell going on here. The taste is a wonderful complex combination of sweet and sour. Absolutely refreshing! A little pricey @ $4.95 for a single 11.2 oz bottle, but hey, you get what you pay for right? All in all, if you’re looking for a beer that’s unique and different—you’ve come to the right place! ~

11.2 oz bottle. Great looking brown pour with a ruby red tinge. Medium tan head. Aroma of oak barrels, sugar and Belgian yeast. Great taste of yeast, plums and oak with a fantastic sour finish that doesn’t overpower the rest of the flavors present.

Dark brown-red, loose foamy beige finger. Strong balsamic vinegar aroma, cherries, oak, strongly sour. Taste is fruity, vinegar, cherries and apples but not very tart.

Dark ruby color with nice, lasting off white head. Aroma is vinegary and a little fruity. Taste is better, sour, tangy, fruity, sweet, a little malty - caramel. Nice beer overall. Dry finish.

33cl bottle, dark amber/brown color, small tan head, the apple and wood aroma with fruity notes (raisins, cherries) and the sweet/sour flavor makes it similar to ours aceto balsamico (balsamic vinegar), medium body, dry finish with "roasted" apple aftertaste. It’s the first sour ale that I taste so I don’t know this style, in Italy we say "I rate it by nose" (means "by istinct")

This is a lovely brew. Poured a brownish thick head. Lovely balanced sour smell and the taste is sharp, spot on what is you should expect. Very nice sharp, but round overall palate. I love this.

Poured to a fluted fest glass at Brixie’s Holiday Beer Tasting in Brookfield, IL. The color was ruby/brown, and the head was modest, off white/light tan foam and light, clingy ribbons of lacing. Actually sampled this twice, with the first bottle being overly oxidized, with over powering vinegar scent. The second bottle was still a little acetic, but presented a better read on the features. A melding of sweet and tart, fruitiness, spice and caramel hints, and an altogether vinous nature made up the aroma as well as the flavor. Interesting brew, but put off by the vinaigrette in anything but a salad.

this was rather oxidized but I’m not sure if that is intentional or because it has come a long way... It was quite good though, sherry and apple cider aroma, cherries in the flavor good mouthfeel
