Strong sweetness pulled back in by a background sourness that is not overpowering by any means. Very mysterious: aged and non-aged beer. Some wood, some cherries, some raisin-y malt with a strong taste but not strong alcohol. Holy cow this is a huge beer. I love it! Wow this is a mysterious and thought-provoking beer. I looooove this!!

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 2, 2010 Notes of candy and fruit, dark reddish-brown colour. Initial taste is very strange, almost like a plum wine sans the alcohol bite of a stronger beer. Sour fruit lingers with after-taste. jredmond (1074), New Jersey, USA

Aroma is vinegar, tart. Taste is not as overpowering with the vinegar as expected. Notes are sweet candy, some tart sourness. BVery (674), Burnsville, Minnesota, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 28, 2009 Updated: Dec 29, 2009Tap. Reddish brown pour, nice lacing. Lots of flavor - fruity/cherries, much vinegar on the nose, and carbonated. Probably a great sour, but just not my style. hawthorne00 (156), Australia
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 28, 2009 Deep red brown. Soft drink fizz faded to nothing immediately. Aroma has sour cherries and quite a lot of dank. Taste is sweet and sour. Residual carbonation is enough to keep the palate lively - it has some old vinegar astringency too. Good with soft and washed rind cheeses. donfardz64 (441), Wellington, New Zealand
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Dec 28, 2009 Bottle from Beerstore.co.nz. Pours brown/red with bubbly tan head. A nice, sour nose of cherries and vanilla. Mouthfilling sour cherry flavour with a sweet sugary body. The sour character is nice, but the sweetness kills then drinkability. 13mikey (175), New Hope, Minnesota, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 13/20 | Dec 26, 2009 12 oz bottle from the Four Firkins. Deep reddish/brown pour with a thin white head. Aroma is (go figure) sour, quite pungent. Reminds me of a malt vinegar. Flavor is also (obviously) sour but kind of sweet at the same time. Finish is tangy and actually a tiny bit sweet. I’ll need to try more sour beers (this is my first sour beer) to have a better gauge to rate something like this. Good candidate for future re-rating. joechristenson (38), Minnesota, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 20, 2009 On tap at the Bulldog, St. Paul. Deep ruby color, good lacing and a small but resilient head. Smells of sweet cherries, apples, and some plum . . . but definitely some must, too. Bold sweetness lingers on the palate, lively carbonation. Tastes of sour cherries, caramel, and maybe a sweet merlot/burgundy. Hints of cinnamon, almost like someone mixed in some apple cider. Hard to suss out all of the flavors and complexities -- I enjoyed this in a limited quantity, but anything more would be a chore. My girlfriend absolutely loathed it -- not for everyone! stfrancis (30), Heffingen, Luxembourg
