WeeHeavySD (2941), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA May 24, 2008 Bottle purchased yesterday at Nikki’s Liquor in Providence. Date is best before 10/18/08. Pours a really nice dark red with a tan half finger nose. Taste is very tart with a nice cherry feeling, the kriek aspect of this is interesting and all over the place and overall its a tasty sour. Not the best and not the worst. 17thfloor (1403), Chicago, Illinois, USA May 24, 2008 Pours a very murky reddish brown with a medium sudsy beige/pink head. Strong woody tart sour cherry aroma. Sweet and tart. Extreme sour cherries with some wood and very little vinegar. Pretty straight forward for what it is. Medium body with very crisp soda like carbonation. Quafable.
Whats with the low ratings? HopheadHans (753), Bay Area, California, USA May 22, 2008 tap at City Beer, SF. pours with a reddish color and a pinkish head. Aroams of cherries and some lemon. Flavorsr are not as sour as for example a Mort Subite. there is more fruit and less sourness, quite nice on the palate, I would say it is more accessible than some of the other lambics. tronraner (1906), Maryville, Tennessee, USA May 17, 2008 Bottle. Pours orange red with lots of bubbles and a bubbly cream-colored head. The aroma is mildly sour with cherry, wood, and a sort of tangy earthiness. Flavor is tart acidity and light cherries. The woody oaken notes compete with the cherry, but both are kept at bay by the strong seltzer sharpness. There are some musty cellar notes and some distant earthy hints, too. It finishes dry and fruity. Vibrant carbonation makes it somewhat champagne-like. Not bad. OleR (2008), Oslo, Norway May 15, 2008 Bottle, thanks to yngwie! Pinkish short-lived head. Clear deep red to light ruby colored body with noisy carbonation. Fresh and sour, light vinegar-ish cherries in the aroma. Notes of wood anf cellar. Taste is less sour; cherries with an acidic twist and some barnyard notes. Crisp and lively mouthfeel. Dry fruity mineralic finish. A likeable quencher. EricE (446), Fairfax, Virginia, USA May 13, 2008 Brown red clear pour with a white head and nice lacing on the glass. Lots of cherry and vinegar and other funky musty notes on the nose. Sweet cherry flavor, almost like candy. Then a slight sourness takes over with a nice meaty finish. Not bad. doubleo (1096), San Diego, California, USA May 10, 2008 On-tap at Stone on 5/8/08. Pours red with a brown tint and a thin, crisp, off-white head. Smells slightly malty with a cough syrup cherry smell as well. Tastes earthy malty up front with a tart, fake cherry flavor through the middle to the finish. Medium body with ok carb. Not a favorite for me. I’d be surprised if real cherries were used to brew it. fonefan (10868), VestJylland, Denmark May 9, 2008 Bottle. Clear medium to dark red color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light red head. Aroma is light yeasty, barnyard, moderate to light heavy cherry, fruity sour. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and acidic with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (060408)
