DruncanVeasey (2695), The Penguin’s Arms, Europe, Warwickshire, England Jan 6, 2008 De Zolder, Brugge, New Year’s Eve. Sweetshop clarity and some sugar, but nibbles with genuine lambic/sour ale character. Lurking wood, acid, alcohol and even a hint of cheese. The natural sweetness of the fruit without it being overpowering. Definitely not a ’ladybeer’. A find. KimJohansen (6676), Copenhagen V, Denmark Jan 4, 2008 Red with short lasting white head. Balsamic aroma with tart and cherry notes. Acidic and tart flavor with natural cherry notes. Very nice. TBone (6675), Pori, Finland Jan 4, 2008 Bottled (BB 03/2008)
Deep cherry red color, small reddish head. Sour aroma of vinegar, berries and oak. Sour cherry flavor, some sugar sweetness, tart finish with some sugar. Standard cherry Flemish sour ale, not really complex, but reasonably drinkable. Enjoyit (1697), Vadum, Denmark Jan 1, 2008 Deep red of color with a reddish/pink head. A sour aroma with notes of cherries and no sweets. A flavor of sour cherries and lovely dry. nightrider (370), encinitas, California, USA Dec 31, 2007 On tap at PP C-bad. Pours a dark ruby red with not much of a head, Sourness on the nose. Some carbonation but smooth on your palate. Sweetness quickly fades to puckering sour cherries with oaky vinegar. Nice finish and very good drinking sour ale. ElGaucho56 (386), USA Dec 15, 2007 12 oz bottle, into tulip snifter glass. Pours a luscious tone of pink-red with slightly red tinted, quickly dissapearing head. Nose is dominated by sour cherries, but unusual hints of vinegar, wood, and a very slight malt sweetness show up. Spritzy but thin on the palate, sour cherries give a slight puckering sensation, turns into a strange menthol-like finish. If you like the style this is a decent example. thooper41 (384), Oregon, USA Nov 24, 2007 Updated: May 10, 200812oz bottle:
