badlizard (2325), Berkeley, California, USA Nov 22, 2007 On tap at Stone. Clear red/gold color with no head. Sour fruity aroma. Tart tangy cherry taste with a mild sourness and some oak notes showing through in the finish. saxo (3511), Højbjerg, Aarhus, Denmark Nov 22, 2007 Meidum pink head with medium duration. Color is ruby. Aroma and taste are sweet cheery. drpimento (785), La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA Nov 18, 2007 Nice beer! The simple commercial description does actually provide a succinct description. Those flavors are very well balanced and blended. Almost, if not a session beer. Natural, great finish. wetherel (1565), Encinitas, California, USA Nov 17, 2007 Tasted on tap at Stone brewery. Amber color with a clear layer (illusion?) on top. Thin to no head of small-to-microbubbles. Nice musty sour aroma. Sweet, perfect mild sourness. mild sour cherry aroma. Slippery velvety smoothness. Very drinkable. Lots of similarity to duchess, except this is much better. Delicious. BitchesBrew (710), Berkeley, California, USA Nov 4, 2007 [bottle] Reddish brown in color, with a light ring of white foam around the edge. Aroma is tart and fruity, with plenty of cherries. Slight vinegar. Mildly acidic flavors blend well with some sweetish brown malts and fruit. Nice oak complexity. Very dry, tart finish. TURDFERGUSON (1594), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA Nov 1, 2007 From a bottle at NOTF ’07. Pours a reddish amber with no head. Nose and flavor are both sweet and sour, both with a fresh cherry base. Slightly oaky, sweet, and sour finish. Pretty good, but not my favorite cup of sour tea. Beershine (2678), Hue, Vietnam Oct 29, 2007 With its swiftly dissipating head, the Verhaeghe kriekenbier is a bit of a letdown in the looks department. Body is likewise thin. However, the flavor profile is nice: a good dose of sour to wake up the mouth without falling too far along the sweet spectrum. Not super aromatic but enough so that you know what you are getting yourself into when you lift up the glass. I’d drink it again. bager (2121), Copenhagen N, Denmark Oct 26, 2007 On tap @ Ølbaren. Quite tart and fruity with a little sourness bite. Pours reddish brown with a small head. Cherries and vinegar notes - a bit too sweet though.
