bombshelter (349), Washington, Washington DC, USA Oct 21, 2007 Bottle, ’t Brugse Beertje. Smells like Rodenbach: tarty, cherry, and a backnote of funk. Clear red, off-pink head. Light body, cherry sweetness that fades quickly into a simple tart finish. Not bad, not great. sunevdj (1764), Copenhagen OE, Denmark Oct 20, 2007 On tap at Ølbaren. Pours red with a diminishing head. Sweet and sour with aromas of cherry, vinegar and a hint of glue. Fruity finish. A Japanese bloke had a sip of my glass and he told me it reminded him a lot of soy sauce?!? obguthr (986), Poquoson, Virginia, USA Oct 14, 2007 Vinegar on the nose. Reddish brown pour with a thick light rose colored head. Very sour cherry and rice taste. Woody apple core finish. faroeviking (6016), Republica Vikingo de las, Faroe Islands Oct 4, 2007 25 cl. bottle. Pours a clear deep amber-red colour with a fizzy short lasting head. Sour cherry aroma with a slight rubber touch, alcohol and slight wood. The flavour is sweet and quite sour with cherries, malt, bit woody and a touch of rubber. Sour cherry dry finish. mabel (2530), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 1, 2007 [595-20070908] 11.2floz @ Sourfest 2007 (Buffalo, NY, w/ rudolf, frylock, IPFreely, jerc, swoopjones). Roasted yeast and medium alcohol aroma with not-nice burnt caramel. Hazy, dark red amber body with a medium-lasting foamy white head and some bits. Sweet fruity malt caramel flavour with a bit of cherry base. Medium body. Tastes quite nice despite the aroma. IndianaRed (1553), Boise, Idaho, USA Sep 30, 2007 Bottle poures a deep mahogany with redish tints. Small light tan head that is fleeting and spotty coarse lacing. Aroma is of brown sugar, old wooden barrels and apple cider, and a bit of the cherries. Flavor is mostly sweet cidery malts and of old wet barrel. Some cherries of the sour variety but not as tart and I expected from a FS. Nice mix of swet and dry, but seems to play the middle of the road rather than being outstanding in any character. Just OK.
