Good strong cherry-nose with raisins, prune, preserved cherries. Nice high acidity and good strong sourness. Tmoney99 (4655), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Feb 6, 2007 Bottle. Poured reddish brown with a large frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate sour tart fruit aroma. Light to medium body. Medium sweet fruity flavor with a medium sweet finish. Smooth refreshing brew. mgermani (862), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Jan 12, 2007 Pours a deep rich red with a quickly dissipating head. Aroma very distinct: sour cherries (black forest cake!) and red wine. Tastes just like it smells - more cherries, less wine, but a lingering dry sweet/sour aftertaste. Very little in the way of hops. Numbing sensation in the aftertaste, thin body but unique - slightly over-carbonated. Good beer with great character, but lacks some variety in palette. Not my cup of tea, but nonetheless well done. redlem (1155), Illinois, USA Dec 15, 2006 Pours with a red tingedd head. Aroma of oak and cherry. A decent sour/red with a hint of cherries. Kind of tart, not much sweetness. LyndaNova (492), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA Dec 10, 2006 Cold 11.2oz bottle: Pours a gorgeous clear cherry amber color with a small pink bubbles around the edges. Aroma is of cherries and rich malts with notes of brown sugar and alcohol. Taste is of rich malts and cherries with notes of wood and sourness. Watery texture and moderately carbonated. Ending is dry and sweet with sour notes and hints of alcohol. Volgon (2487), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA Dec 10, 2006 11.2oz bottle: Pours a clear red with some orange and a thin white head, sour wood and cherries in the aroma, very acidic and tart flavor that ends with the taste of soggy wood. I wanted to enjoy this beer, but was unable to. hopscotch (5437), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Dec 3, 2006 Bottle... Clear blood-red ale with a mid-sized, creamy, pink head. Good retention. The nose is acidic, lightly woodsy and a touch medicinal with notes of black cherries and subtle molasses. The very acetic, fruity flavor shows flashes of medium alcohol and tempering sweetness. Full-bodied with a velvety mouthfeel and modest carbonation. Finishes sweet, tart and tannic. Hearty for a lambic!
