BeerandBlues2 (3201), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Apr 26, 2006 Bottle from Luckygirl. Pours ruby with a mix of multi-sized particles, fizzy-bubbly with a patchy pinkish head, lasting. Aroma is sour cherry, tart berries, yeast (oak, cellar) and malt (straw). Initially tart and dry sour cherry flavor, foamy, goes moderately acidic, malty and cherry skin, vinous notes. Medium bodied, fizzy-foamy, dry and spicy palate. bb (2905), Martinez, California, USA Apr 12, 2006 Bottle. Ruby-raspberry color with a quickly disapating pinkish head. Dusty, earthy, tart, fruity aroma. Fruity (cherry) flavor with light earthy tartness. Nice complexity. Lingering earthy, cherry flavor. Nejhleader (924), Lemoyne, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 30, 2006 On Tap. Had a very sour and tart tast to it. Aroma was similiar. Not sure if I tasted any cherries at all. Numenor (869), Richmond, Virginia, USA Mar 28, 2006 Caramel colored body with a thin, off-white head. Sour fruit aroma, some vinegar. A cherry, cinnamon, nutmeg flavor. Nice cool ending. maniac (2628), Richmond, Virginia, USA Mar 28, 2006 Clear dark cherry color with a thin white head. Slightly sour aroma. Sweet cherry flavor with some light sour hints. apoptosis (1316), Long Island, New York, USA Mar 16, 2006 Full aroma with cherries (of course) and also some tender maltiness. The appearance is dark ruby and even the head is a light pink. Sour and tart, as I expected, but it seems slightly off-balanced: it needs something other than the fruit to distinguish it from other fruit beers, it isn’t quite malty/sweet enough, and the sourness itself just isn’t enough to carry the flemish sour ale title, IMHO. notalush (2628), Denver, Colorado, USA Mar 16, 2006 Reddish purple color with pink lace - aroma of sweet cherry syrup, acidity and band-aids - quite dry and medium-tart - just a mild cherry presence, not overpowering - dry, mineral-like finish - decent. Aquahop (8), Oregon, USA does not count Mar 3, 2006 Nice beer. Light cherry flavor. Excellent tartness. Not much acetic note at all. This is a very mouth watering beer which I could drink much more of. Much better beer than the Vichtenarr. Smooth lactic presence with a dry tart finish. Could use a bit more cherry to it, perhaps.
