Well, it’s good, but not Dutchess good. ....or better yet, Dutchess powerfull. The nose is good, and not overbearing so you don’t have to hold it going in. Vinegar’d cherries in a rather bubbly fizz. loverly dark cherry/black cherry colour. This was pretty good and easy to start out with. I think for someone unable to stomach the Dutchess, this would be a worthy substitute. IMtheOptimator (1161), Bethel, Connecticut, USA

Poured red with an off-white head. Aroma is decent sour cherries. Taste is tart cherries and cinnamon with a dry finish. Somewhat bland. mephisto (1144), Taiwan

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Oct 13, 2005 Seein’ it: Rosy red is the color, mainly clear, with a proud, fizzy, pinkish head that collapses assuredly, but slowly...
Smellin’ it: big time cherry, massive sour notes, very vibrant and arousing.
Tastin’ it: Oooo, wince, pucker, grimace, shudder, ...ahhhh!!!
Very tasty, when you enjoy that sensation. Lip smackin’, with a recurring fruity flavor. Brilliantly bitter. Medium bodied, long, fruity, sour finish. Thoroughly spanks the palate, slapping cherry-whips on the tongue.
Just delicious.

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 9, 2005 pleasent, soft fruity aroma, reminds me of a french wine that I can’t quite place. a beautiful, deep red-brown color, thin head which fades almost immediatly. lightly cherry, nicely balanced but slightly more on the sour than the sweet though not too much of either. light body, slightly effervescent. not much on the finish, but with a slight sweetness that clings to the lips. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 4, 2005 Pinkish head. Clear ruby/coppery red body, attractive.
Sweet bandaids, oaky sweet cherries.
Off-cardboard/bbq sauce and twig finish. That type of flavor, is on top of a sweet/sour cherry. Its like they tried to do a Rodenbach Alexander, but, its not as good.

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 4, 2005 Plum-brown body under a light purple bubbly head. Concentrated sweet cherry aroma with woody, slightly vinegary, medicinal notes. The flavor has a weak, astringent malt backing with the same over-sweet cherries. Lots of skin tannins as well. This is a dumbed-down flemish sour, sort of like Lindeman’s Kriek. 1FastSTi (2557), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Oct 4, 2005 Pours to a odd red-hued brown with a thin white head. The aroma is lots of fermented cherries, vinegar, menthol, and oak. The flavor is strange, apple cider vinegar? Oak. To me, the palate is one of the redeeming qualities of this beer. I love Flemish Sours when they’re good, but this isn’t one of them. I want more Panil!
