BB 10/31/2005... Poured a clear, ruby red color with a thin, off white head that left no lacing on the glass. Aroma of sweet cherries, grapes, port wine, and light oak. Taste of medicinal, sweet cherries, faint oak, and a lingering tartness. The first sip was a shocker, but I got used to this.

Sour cherry aroma. A very sour taste, this is almost wine in which they’ve added some cherry’s.(Bottle 25cl)

Bottle. Deep red with a slim pink head. Aroma of sour cherries. Very sweet, nicely sour. Medium, highly carbonated mouthfeel. Sour aftertaste. Pretty good.

Cask Canterbury beer festival. 2 draught foreign beers were on at any one time during most of the festival. This had a whiff of cherry, a bit like the Liefmans. Good sourness but the cherries don’t over power it. Good kriek beer with good balance. Maybe could do with a touch more malt

Pours a beautiful red with a slowly diminishing pink head, no less! Aroma is a little weak but nice. Vinegar, cherries (of course), light wood-smoke and sweaty yeast. Taste is mild but nice. Slightly sour, somewhat sweet. Mouth puckering a little. Aftertaste fades quickly from lightly sour, tiny bit bitter. Overall it’s nice, but of Verhaeghe, I like Vichtenaar a little better.

Deep ruby pour with medium, creamy, white head. Aroma of big tart cherries, some port and malt. Tastes tart cherryish, with a medium, fruity, smooth finish. Very nice!
