Smelled really good, like fresh black cherries. Strong tart cherry flavor, almost a sour candy quality. Sampled with some dark chocolate and it really perked up. Great with food, but not so great on it’s own.

Clear, rosy hue and a pink, sudsy head. Tart and sweet cherry nose with some woody barnyard character. Strong cherry flavor with some fruit peel quality and a tart, puckering finish. Too sweet and lacking in depth. Like a cherry-laden horse that runs for the pink team.

Sampled at le Mondial de la bière 2005. Pours a clear dark red color with a thin offwhite head. Sweet aroma of cherries. Sweet and sour flavor of cherries. Light to medium body, soft carbonation.

A Mes rate: Re rate following Croydon Belgian Festival. I must have had a bad bottle of this as my second attempt was much much better than my first. Also since then I have really enjoyed it every time. Very very similar to the Vichtenaar just with more fruit. Wonderful body, great finish. Maybe it has just grown on me... . (I better rate this one quick before it gets drained! Not too good to be honest. A strange chocolate hint to the aroma and the flavour. For me it doesnt really work that well. Goes down quick and easy though! Damn these 25cl bottles!)

Musty and leather smell. Very cherry, light head. Opaque red. Sugar and vinegar acidic, not finishable, doesn’t work altogether, the taste the fizzy carbonation. Too dry too thin,

(bottle 25 cl) In my version only 5,8% ABV. A different, stronger, more dry and less sweet Kriek. More beer, less fruit. A refreshing and quenching fruit-beer based on Sour Ale rather than sweetened lambic. If you miss Rodenbach Alexander, this is a decent substitute. 220896

Bottled:
Sourly aroma, medium strong cherry note. Brillant red color. Flavor is light sourly with remarkable cherry flavor, that isn’t dominant. End is astringent with light notes of bitter almonds. Nice, but a hint to sweet.

Light sour cherry aroma. Hazy red in colour with a small pink head. Sweet cherry start with a sour and slightly woody finish. Refreshing cherry beer.
