pours out a cherry "koolaid" red with a fast fading head.Smells like sherry and nuts.
Not a bad taste, but not for me.Starts with a sort of metallic stale taste, then tart cherries and wood.buried in there is a band-aid sort of unpleasant flavour, like the beer is "off"The beer is thin.
Nicely carbonated.
Strangely this beer tastes better guzzled!!!?

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 18, 2004 Pours a pink/mahogany colour with a thin pink head. Aromas of cherries, pipe tobbacco, cinnamon. Tastes of cinnamon, cherries, red wine, has a nice sourness to it and none of the flavours were to overbearing. Quite nice I belive I’ll need more for christmas. JoeMcPhee (5000), Jackson Heights, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 14, 2004 Beautiful ruby-purple beer with a frothy pink head. Prominent cherry aroma, warm spices (nutmeg, clove, cinnamon). Tannic and lactic acidic aroma. Flavour is nicely structured, a bit of lactic and acetic acid. Vineous quality. Cherry flavour, spice, with a nice tart and fruity finish. jeffc666 (1889), Fairfax, Virginia, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Oct 10, 2004 Sparkling clear ruby body topped by a foamy small pink head. The aroma is sour cherries and light nuty malt. Sour cherry with a fakish cherry flavor, cherry syrup I guess. Really not very good, tastes kind of off to me, a bad funk rather than the good funk that I enjoy so much. Very stringent finish. Not very good. I am dissapointed as the others from this brewery are quite good. robbier (12), noordwijkerhout, Netherlands
| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Oct 3, 2004 One of a six-different-beers-present, normally I would only buy one of those cherry-beers for using in some cooking-recipe. This one tastes like cassis-lemonade, only the pink head reminds me that this is beer. Malakin (465), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 30, 2004 In a bottle labelled "Echt Kreikenbier" but it seems to be the same stuff. Deep dark red with a sour cherry aroma and a bit of balsamic vinegar. Flavour is more of the same and quite a bit more simple then I would of expected, by the end of the bottle I was a bit dissapointed. bu11zeye (5442), Frisco, Texas, USA
