Adam77 (407), Eastampton, New Jersey, USA Apr 22, 2009 Opened with imadeadguy. Poured red with no head. Aroma of cherry and booze. Says sour but not sour. Very sweet with a syrupy cough medicine flavor. Ummm no. imadeadguy (378), back in NJ!, New Jersey, USA Apr 20, 2009 Updated: Apr 23, 2009Sample from Adam77. Pour was lighter ruby red with no head. Looked like light cranberry juice. Aromas of cherry, cough medicine, and alcohol. Flavor was light with those listed above. Not sour at all and just downright nasty. AtlAggie (131), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Apr 15, 2009 Deep ruby red, virtually no head. Nose mostly of cherry, hint of plum, and alcohol (reminiscent of a port, actually). Deep cherry flavor, also brown sugar. Alcohol not too apparent on taste. Sour but not overly so, probably to its detriment. Drinkable, but not the best example of its class. Snojerk321 (1914), San Diego, California, USA Apr 14, 2009 Found some of my notes from the 2008 Stone Sour Fest. Clear dark cherry color with a thin white head. Slightly sour aroma. Sweet cherry flavor with some light sour hints. pootzboy (1031), Hawgville, Ontario, Canada Apr 13, 2009 330ml bottle, fairly fresh according to date code:
Pours a rich ruby color with a smallish cap. Light carbonation.
Aroma is a musty-cherry earthy barnyard profile...hints of sweetness but not saccharine, tartness dominates...very nice.
Fkavor is lush with tart fruit, malty notes, oak, lush port-like tastes, decent complexity....finish is tart and fruity with a hint of sweetness.
Nicely put together variation on an flemish sour brown.
PJClarke (608), London, Greater London, England Mar 30, 2009 A tart cranberry nose mellows in the mouth to sweet cherries and green foliage. It’s very smooth and easy. I found it a little sweet overall. It lacked any real depth. All bark, no bite. All cock, no balls. What is a party if it doesn’t really rock? smith4498 (816), Miami, Florida, USA Mar 28, 2009 Pours reddish brown with tan head. Sour cherry aroma. Flavor is initially sour followed by tart cherries and some woody notes. Medium body with lively carbonation. Zinister (1198), Houston, Texas, USA Mar 14, 2009 Dirty brown pour. Nose of vinegar and cherries. Flavor is sweet cherries with a syrupy flavor. Sour and acid finish.
