Lots of carbonation and very foamy palate. Definitely cherries there in the flavor but a very strong sour/tartness that was dominant. Finished with tart fruit and plum notes. phishpond417 (1935), Madison, Wisconsin, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 27, 2008 Full aroma of sweet cherries and oak. Pours a clear deep red with a compact pink head. Flavor is cherries and vanilla, whose sweetness offsets a long bitter woody finish. Dry on the finish, has the sensation in common with many dubbels where it seems to evaporate off the tongue. More a sipper than a drinker. mkobes (2104), paramus, New Jersey, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 12, 2008 Never seen a redder beer in my life - beautiful. Looks like a much redder Duchesse. Mild, pungent, fruity aroma - predominantly cherries and grapes. The flavor is more superficial than Duchess, with more cherries and a bit more tartness. Possibly a bit metallic / artificial. Still very good, but no Duchesse. Lagunitasfan (434), San Diego, California, USA

Farmy undertones. Wonderful brown red color. Taste is good, but the leftovers are great. This funkiness in the aftertaste hangs out and bounces around the mouth for a long time. The quote I wrote at the time was the leftovers hang out and party in my mouth. gunnfryd (3571), Kristiansand, Norway
