Loz described this as like eating spangles where sometimes got you at the back of the mouth, I knew what she meant it was like that. Intensely dry at first but those cherries were so sharp lovely. Pours ruby with a mix of multi-sized particles, fizzy-bubbly with a patchy pinkish head, lasting. Aroma is sour cherry, tart berries, yeast (oak, cellar) and malt (straw). Initially tart and dry sour cherry flavor, foamy, goes moderately acidic, malty and cherry skin, vinous notes. Medium bodied, fizzy-foamy, dry and spicy palate. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 20, 2005 33 cl bottle. Red color with a small pinkish head. Aroma is cherry all right with some brett detected also. Taste is more cherry soda than a Flemish Sour. Too many good beers in this category for this to be close to those. hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA

Poured a large pinkish fizzy head with fine-small sized bubbles that quickly dissipated. Soft carbonation, transparent and a red hue. Cherry, sweet and alcohol aroma. Sweet, acidic, cherry and alcohol flavor from start to finish. Tingly mouthfeel. TheBeerGod (3165), Newport News, Virginia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 30, 2004 My bottle is called Echt Kriekenbier. I’m sure it is the same, however. Pours deep magenta with a tall pink head. Aroma is sour with hints of vinegar, fruit, and wood. Taste is sour cherry but it’s somewhat sweet with the vinegar only creeping in around the edges. You can taste the wood also, but it’s not as pronounced as some other cask aged beers. Mouthfeel is moderately bitter but otherwise silky smooth. No acidity in this one, that I can pick up, anyway. Finish is a bit dry leaving more of the sour cherry taste. Lovely beer! RichardGretton (3154), Leicestershire, England

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 17, 2007 Savannah, Ga. - Habersham Beverages, 11.2 oz bottle. Dark, ruby red pour with a tight, slighlty gray head, sticks around a bit. Essence of sour cherries in the aroma. Flavor alternates between the sweet and the sour wtih a heavy does of sour cherries, soem sweet tart notes and a wee hint of vinegar. Not as puckery sour as many sour ales and the mouthfeel is kind of faded. Tastes slightly worn out. Decent nightcap though.
