Aroma of tart cherries, malt, alcohol and a pungent sweetness. Medium-bodied; Tart cherry flavour up front with a short sweetness and not much malt-one dimensional. Aftertaste sharp and bitter from the cherries-not left smooth! Overall, a decent cherry lambic-not smooth or refined, but good to try this rare beer! I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Vienna, Virginia on 29-August-2004. Volgon (2489), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA

I wanted to enjoy this beer, but was unable to. FlacoAlto (2473), Tucson, Arizona, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 12, 2004 A deep red color. The aroma is sour, with note of vinegar, and it definitely has good cherry notes to it. The taste is refreshing and dry with a sour cherry character. This would be a great beer to drink on a hot day. Fruity, but not at all cloying with a nice balancing tartness. kmweaver (2469), Sebastopol, California, USA

Pours a dark ruby color; very thin, off-white head with patchy lacing. Funky overripe cherries and strawberries and musty fruits in the aroma; slight tartness and funk. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: red fruits (strawberries, cherries), sticky earthy malts, overripe fruits and a touch of caramel and lingering sugar. Slightly sweetened sticky kriek. Lengthy finish, showing bitter cherries and bready malts; sweetness is reasonably well-contained. robertsreality (2460), Minnesota, USA

Light brown-red color, no head, light carbonation. Acidic Strawberry taste, diminishes fast. On Draft at the GBBF 2003: Cherry comes more through than anything else. Nice medium finish - some metallic spores. Nice. 5000 (2409), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 2, 2004 Bottle pours deep ruby with a minor light pinkish hued head. Little carbonation with a good head. Aroma is vinous, along with a cherry tinge. Up front its very cherry, vinous, but towards the end it finishes rather quickly. Light oak tinge, but definitely not as complex as the Duchesse De Bourgogne. Sour/tartness on the aftertaste. Very drinkable, but could stand to have a bit more in the palate & flavor.
