Bottle: Poured a reddish brown amber with a thin light head. The aroma was a sour cherry. The taste was very sour and tart cherry, but the dry tingly that remained opened my tongue up for more sips!

330ml bottle. Tart, vinous and fruity aroma, very lightly acetic with notes of cherry, grape, faint oak, leather and an, herbal, leafy touch mingling with a gentle brown sugary sweetness. Clear red-brown in color with a fine, lasting, creamy head. Flavor is likewise tart and fruity with an undercurrent of sweetness and earthy oak, but seeming to evoke a blend of milky chocolate, coconut and cherry towards the finish, along with a certain faint metallic tang that produces some astringency. Smooth and semi-dry on the palate with a medium-full body. Apparently the base beer is Vichtenaar, and I do believe the cherry addition is worthwhile as it blends well with the existing profile and adds some complexity.

Bottle. Pours clear and ruddy light brown with a persistent off-white head. Aroma of wood, vinegar, funk, cherry. Body tending to light, along with the carbonation. Sweet and sour cherry taste that finishes a bit woody. Nice and refreshing.

Light sour cherry aroma. Hazy red in colour with a small pink head. Sweet cherry start with a sour and slightly woody finish. Refreshing cherry beer.

red tinted transparent amber with a thin sheet of big bubbles...subtle malt drenched cherries, lightly metallic, not overly sour or even really sour at all..non-sour cherry aroma. "Kriek" is misleading.

Found some of my notes from the 2008 Stone Sour Fest. Clear dark cherry color with a thin white head. Slightly sour aroma. Sweet cherry flavor with some light sour hints.

Pours a cranberry color with little head and a sour cherry funky, guaze smell as to be expected. Taste is sweeter than most sour ales, but still relatively mild in that department, and a moderately long lasting flavor in the finish. Still, did nothing for me with it’s vinegary qualities.
