Nose and flavor are both sweet and sour, both with a fresh cherry base. Slightly oaky, sweet, and sour finish. Pretty good, but not my favorite cup of sour tea. beastiefan2k (1603), Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 22, 2009 Best before 07-07-07, so maybe 4 or 5 years old.. Pours pretty un-lively, barely any lacing with a deep red color. A little bit of junk at the end of the pour. First hazy but gets darker to make visibility difficult. Aroma is very cherry pit with musky and more cherry juice. A bit of oak coming through with a bit of leafiness. taste has a bit of musky sourness but mostly more cherry and light oak. Its a bit sweeter for the style. It evaporates pretty fast on the palate. Decent stuff, aged fine enough. 12oz bottle, Bell’s tulip glass. TheBeerOrg (1584), Kentucky, USA

Aroma of cherry and oak. Taste is tart, cherry, oak, dark fruits with only light acidity. Medium bodied, with soft/lush carbonation and a tart finish. Good, but I prefer the Vichtenaar and Duchesse. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 30, 2007 Bottle poures a deep mahogany with redish tints. Small light tan head that is fleeting and spotty coarse lacing. Aroma is of brown sugar, old wooden barrels and apple cider, and a bit of the cherries. Flavor is mostly sweet cidery malts and of old wet barrel. Some cherries of the sour variety but not as tart and I expected from a FS. Nice mix of swet and dry, but seems to play the middle of the road rather than being outstanding in any character. Just OK.

Lovely aroma of cherries, oak, some brett and a bit of malt. Flavor has lots of cherries, wood, some malt and some sugary sweetness. Flavor is a bit too sweet but still has a nice dose of sourness. Medium-bodied. A well-made cherry sour ale - very pleasant.
