A ruddy brown color with red hues. The flavor was not as bad as the aroma, but still, was not outstanding. Moderate sourness, some acidity, and a short and unpleasant finish do not a good beer make. Interesting to try, but not something I really want again. asheft (1443), Marburg, Germany

Balsamic vinegar that was aged with cherries in the nose. Clear red with a brownish tint and no lasting head. Sour cherry first, followed by a woody aged character that contains some bitterness. A pleasant malt flavour comes in late to round off things and not leave the mouth puckered. Excellent beer that to me is the perfect Flemish red: not cloyingly sweet and not crazy full of acid either. I prefer this to the Duchesse de Burgoyne or whatever it’s called. High carbonation and light to medium body. BoBoChamp (1436), Gent, Belgium

From Verhaeghe you can expect good brews and thisone must be tasted again another day. Nice cherryaroma and flavor in the acidy way. Refreshing and not too sweet. iwantalambic (1389), St. Louis, Missouri, USA

Strong, tart cherry skin aroma, woody & earthy. Nice tart flavours right on the tip of the tongue, turning acidic in the end, but stays fruity. A cherry champagne-like quality on the palate: crisp carbonation and a sweet tingling effervescence. Nice, but not quite as complex as the greatest of the Flemish Sours… tytoanderso (1387), St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA

Pours a beautiful mahogany brown red with a tiny pinkish white head. Dry with big notes of sour cherry. Lots of wood and vinegar. Medium bodied. I liked this quite a bit better than the regular Verhaeghe sour.
