The aroma is sourish with notes of yeast/brett and berries. The flavour has an OK berry acidity, a light sweetness, notes of berries, black berries and cherries. It’s refreshing and pleasant, but I would have liked the cherry notes more clear and the brett-like notes a bit subdued. faroeviking (6082), BjórtjóðveldiðBjórheimBjórsins, Faroe Islands
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 4, 2007 25 cl. bottle. Pours a clear deep amber-red colour with a fizzy short lasting head. Sour cherry aroma with a slight rubber touch, alcohol and slight wood. The flavour is sweet and quite sour with cherries, malt, bit woody and a touch of rubber. Sour cherry dry finish. bierkoning (6050), La Tropica, Netherlands
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 1, 2003 Aroma has cherry, almond and oak. Sweetish flavor with cherry juice, caramel and oak. Some sourness and a hint of rubber in the aftertaste. Cherries on oud bruin, just like Liefmans kriek, but lacks the quality of that beer. Still a nice beer, though. Re rate following Croydon Belgian Festival. I must have had a bad bottle of this as my second attempt was much much better than my first. Also since then I have really enjoyed it every time. Very very similar to the Vichtenaar just with more fruit. Wonderful body, great finish. Maybe it has just grown on me...

(I better rate this one quick before it gets drained! Not too good to be honest. A strange chocolate hint to the aroma and the flavour. For me it doesnt really work that well. Goes down quick and easy though! Damn these 25cl bottles!) thewolf (5764), Kolding, Denmark

Pours deep dark red with a small rim of light pink foam. Aroma has cherries, good earthy tartness, oak and barnyard. Rather high carbonation. Flavour has quite little cherries, only a faint not. Flavour is lightly fruity tart with citric notes. Good oakiness and dry finish. Okay. Rastacouere (5553), Montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 4, 2004 Pinkish red hue surmounted by a pink off-white head. Nice nose with that oak cask wood thing going on that seduces me like always. Woody with weird almost smoky notes. Leafy balsamic vinegar notes and of course an honest mostly sweet cherry base. Palate is balsamic, very refreshing, oaky vanilla, but acidity level remains low enough to be accessible. Excellent! Magicdave6 (5520), London, Greater London, England

Aroma is balsalmic cherrys with maybe a little aluminium too. Taste is Vichtenaar, from the same brewery, but maybe a little less blood and less sour too. There seems to be near no cherry taste at all in my beer, which i like, but im wondering where it comes from in the aroma? I’ll need to try it again.
