Pours a beautiful ruby hue with a small rapbery colored head. Aromas of yeast and cherries. MOuthfeel is medium bodied with flavors of ummm.... cherries not as tart as many sour ale tend to be. A little dry, with little aftertaste.

0.33L bottle, bb 18-10-06. Served in my NB worthy glass right from the cellar at 52°. Dark red color, reddish tinted, white head, smallish but fluffy. The beer and foam coats the glass when swilred. The aroma is red wine, red wine vinegar, oak, vanilla, and a touch of sweetness. The cherries don’t assert themselves, in fact I cannot discern them from the rest of the aroma. Yup, this is a flemish sour, wasn’t sure when I bought it. The initial taste is sweet and sour cherries with a bit of oak and yeast? The mid-taste is vanilla, oak, and a bright cherry flavor and cider with a bit of mouthpuckering sourness, but not as much as a non-fruit Flemish sour. The finish is moderately sour with some oak and a touch of brett? or some other lambic-ish funkiness. The funkiness is far from overwelhming, but adds a bit of flair at the end. This is pretty tasty, I kinda dig the cherry with the flemish sour.

This was a decent beer. I am not a big fan of the style but I decided to sample it anyways. It pours a deep red color with a pinkish-white head. The taste is tart and the finish is dry. Worth a try as a change of pace from the normal.

Looks raspberry red pouring out of the bottle. In the glass it’s somewhat darker with a pinkish purple head. The nose here is interesting with a bit of cherries (of course) along with some sort of unidentifiable funk that’s not the normal horseblanket thing you expect in sour beers--not really bad but interesting. Flavorwise this comes across a bit mild but with hints of cask wood, clove, nutmeg and raisin. Slightly sweet and just a little bit tart. Slightly watery on the palate. Not bad but there’s cherry beers I’d rather drink.

on tap, Wurstkuche. Pours bright red/pink with a small white head. Aroma is tart cherry, strawberry and lemonade. Flavor starts with bright cherry fruit and sugar. Might be some lemony notes as well. In the middle comes tartness, contributing a refreshing zip to this beer. Finishes clean. Overall, a clean, refreshing fruit drink. However, one is slightly bored by the one-sidedness of the flavor by half-glass.

Vinegar on the nose. Reddish brown pour with a thick light rose colored head. Very sour cherry and rice taste. Woody apple core finish.

Bottle, ’t Pothuiske, Maastricht. Reddy-chestnut with a thin off-white head. Nose is sour cherry and some berry tones with some dark yeasty funkiness. Mouth is a tart cherry, then some icing sugar and a little yeastiness too. Some woody tones at the end. Good.
