Clear amber red with no head. Smell is tart vinegar and maple syrup. Flavor is sweet and way too subtle and weak. Not very sour in the flavor. Just seems off in this style like it doesn’t belong. Watery and thin. Drinkable, I suppose, but just not something I will reach for in the furture. austone (1039), Turku; Pori, Finland

Almondy cherry nose, mild flemish sourness and leather. Flavor is sour cherries, little currants. Shows it’s Flemish sour base nicely, not that sweet or sugary. Strongly carbonated, maybe a tad light palate. Very natural and classy beer. IslandHaole (1035), Onna-Son, Okinawa-Ken, Japan
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 4, 2007 Ruby color with a small fizzy off-white head. Has that what I call ’’barnyard’’ scent with a bit of sour cherry tossed in there for good measure. Has a dry flavor, mild tart cherry with a bit of pucker power but not like some of the other sour ales I have tried. A nice step up for those used to the overly sweet Krieks like Bellevue. A Flemmish sour with training wheels. ChillCoat (1029), Concord, California, USA

Malty cherry taste, not really sour at all. Tastes like a cherry soda. Also seems a bit watery. NOt bad but far from being my favorite sour.
Re-Rate: Not so watery this time around but still a liitle too sweet for me. Lowe1983 (1029), Fairborn, Ohio, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 13, 2007 Pours an amber color with some red in it and a pinkish head. Aroma is of sour cherries, oak, and some wild yeast. Flavor starts of tart of cherries and finishes with the oak. Flavor dies out pretty quick with not much of a lingering flavor. Decent but I’ve had better brews of this style. estoppel (1028), Buffalo, New York, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 26, 2009 11.2oz bottle. Pours transparent brown with a hint of red, topped with a thin off-white head. Aroma is on the sweet side, with cherries, wood, and a little tartness. Flavor isn’t as sweet as the aroma; it exhibits a nice balance between sweet-tart cherries, wood, and a little acetic acid. Dry cherry finish. refreshing and quite easy to drink.
